Bahamas Breeze has a cool Caribbean vibe and the food and drinks are pretty good, which is enough to win it some fans.
Apparently, there aren’t enough fans, because owner Darden Restaurant has announced that it will be closing the last 28 Bahama Breeze restaurants in the coming months. Darden also owns Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse, and half of the closed Breeze locations will be converted into other restaurants in the chain, CNN reported.
CNN pointed out The sad news for fans of the restaurant comes a year after Dutton first closed a third of its restaurants.
The outlet reported that the last day of operation for the 14 Bahama Breeze restaurants will be April 5. Another 14 restaurants will be converted into other restaurants over the next 12 to 18 months, according to Darden.
“The company believes the renovated site is an excellent location and will benefit multiple brands across its portfolio,” Darden said. “Going forward, the primary focus will continue to be on supporting team members, including filling as many roles as possible across the Darden portfolio.”
Dutton said it has not yet been revealed which restaurants the locations will be converted into.
Bahama Breeze Close Location List Two of them are in Pennsylvania, one in King of Prussia and the other in Pittsburgh. Other restaurants are located in Delaware, Georgia, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Virginia and Washington state.
While Bahamas Breeze has come to an end, Darden’s stock is up 8% this year, and Oliver Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse are also “reporting positive same-store sales growth as consumers look for value,” according to CNN.
