Livigno, Italy – The women’s freeride halfpipe competition, originally scheduled for Saturday at 1:30 p.m. ET, has been postponed to Sunday due to an ongoing snowstorm that continued into the evening, making the halfpipe competition unsafe.
The event is now scheduled for Sunday at 10:40 a.m. ET.

This competition is the last chance for American freeskier Ailin Gu, who represents the Chinese team, to leave the Milan Cortina Olympics with a gold medal. She won silver medals in both slopestyle and aerials, but the halfpipe – where she won gold in Beijing years ago – is her favorite.
The 12-person field for the final included two Americans, Kate Gray and Svea Irving, but ironically, one of the top contenders to beat Gu was another American-born athlete representing another country.
Zoe Atkin was born in Massachusetts, her parents (one from Malaysia and one from the UK) worked in the United States and she competed for Team GB. She won a gold medal at the world championships last year and, like Gu, attended Stanford University.
