Pittsburgh Steelers legend Mike Wagner dies at age 76. The former Steelers safety was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and a member of four Super Bowl championship teams in the 1970s.
Wagner was drafted by Western Illinois in the 11th round of the 1971 NFL Draft. As a rookie, he started 12 games and caught two passes. In 1973, he led the NFL with eight interceptions. A neck injury limited him to three games in 1977, but he returned in 1978 and started 14 games, catching two passes in the regular season and helping the Steelers win their third Super Bowl. In 1979, he appeared in eight games and helped the Steelers win their fourth Super Bowl of the decade.
