NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The Tote Krewe is facing some criticism after riders allegedly aggressively threw beads at marchers.

An investigation by the New Orleans Police Department revealed that Krewe members allegedly threw beads “in an aggressive manner” at a “civilian marcher holding a sign opposing federal agents (ICE).”

According to NOPD, the incident occurred during the Uptown 32 float parade and resulted in the rider being removed from the float.

NOPD officials added that previous reports of beads being thrown at federal agents were incorrect.

The incident occurred a week after 41 riders from the Carrollton Krewe were removed from float No. 10 for throwing beads at members of the New Orleans Police Department.

No arrests were made in either incident.
