In second place was the Swiss-3, with Alexis Monney competing on the downhill and Daniel Yule taking over on the loop back. They were 0.17 seconds behind. Four-time World Cup champion Marco Odermatt led the Swiss first team to third place. He is working with technology expert Loic Meillard. They were 0.28 seconds behind.
The third Swiss team – Olympic downhill champion Franjo von Allmen tied with Tanguy Nef – finished fourth.
Five teams trailed by a second or less.
At last February’s World Championships, Switzerland won the men’s team gold, silver and bronze medals. However, with the merger of Odermatt and Maillard, the country made some changes. At worlds, Maillard won the gold medal partnering with von Allmann.
