Super Bowl 60 betting: 1 bettor wagered $253,000 on the coin toss … and won

The Super Bowl coin toss is one of the most famous prop bets and always receives a lot of attention from the betting public. Head or tail? It’s a 50-50 proposition and one of the first bets to cash out each year.

It also attracted bets from punters who were burning out of pockets.

A bettor at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas put down $253,000 on the coin toss at -103 odds, one of the largest bets reported for a coin toss and one of the largest bets reported by sportsbooks for a six-figure game.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp called it tails and San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana flipped a coin and it came up heads, giving the bettor more than $245,000.

Earlier this week, a bettor at Caesars Casino in Iowa placed a $100,000 bet on tails.

In Super Bowl 60, the Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots by 4.5 points.
