If you plan to fly from the home of the Philadelphia Eagles to Lincoln, Nebraska, it will take approximately 19 hours. It’s about 1,269 miles from the NovaCare complex, but who’s counting? A more time-efficient plan, we were told, would be to board a plane. Driving all day on I-80 East and I-76 East is such a pain. Why is this important? An Eagles assistant will reportedly join Matt Rhule’s staff.
Eagles defensive assistant Tyler Yelke is joining the Big Ten as safeties coach for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz reports.
Yelke originally joined the Eagles in 2023 as an assistant to head coach Nick Sirianni. In the 2025 offseason, he was named a defensive assistant. Before landing in the City of Brotherly Love, Yelke was a college safeties coach at Idaho State, spending time at Temple and Northern Illinois. He coaches safeties and nickelbacks for the Owls.

He also has some experience as a secondary defensive coordinator, a position he held at South Dakota State, Dallas Goedert’s alma mater. Now, he’s taking his talents to the Big Ten Conference.
