What a revelation Bruno Fernandes has been for Manchester United.
Since his £47m move from Sporting Lisbon, the Portuguese superstar has become United’s most consistent performer, truly becoming a player of the season.

With 103 goals and 97 assists in 312 games, Fernandez is the epitome of the modern playmaker. In fact, one day, a paper will be written about his revolution in the M16.
Fernandez is one of those rare breed of footballers who are retained for life, only leaving when they hang up their boots and take a place in their club’s hall of fame.
However, while this would have been the perfect ending to his Manchester United career, the reality was not to be.
His future is uncertain
Reports suggest Fernandes is weighing up his long-term future at Old Trafford. Although his contract runs until the summer of 2027, with United having the option of a one-year extension, the midfielder could leave as early as this summer.

While there is hope he could be persuaded to stay, the latest reports from Spain remain doubtful, turning Ineos’ desire to keep him into a seemingly hopeless pursuit.
Real Madrid choose to oppose Fernandez’s attack
Exposed by Rodella, a reporter at Madrid’s Globo Report, reporting:
“Manchester United captain and playmaker Bruno Fernandes made his request to Real Madrid this month.
“However, the Merengue side outright rejected the opportunity to sign the Portugal international, adhering to their policy of not making large-scale recruitments in January.”
If accurate, this paints a depressing picture for United, leaving many wondering just how disappointed Fernandes would be as he considered leaving at a time when the club needed him most.

Key to Manchester United’s Champions League ambitions
This Manchester United side is desperate to stay together and somehow salvage a disappointing season following the sacking of head coach Ruben Amorim.
Caretaker boss Michael Carrick asked his leaders to step up and losing Fernandes would be a devastating blow.
Real Madrid’s current refusal to pursue him is therefore a huge boost to United’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.
However, even if Fernandes leads them back to Europe’s top competition, his proposals to Madrid will have some fearing he will follow in Casemiro’s footsteps at the end of the season.
