“Assassin’s Creed: Shadows” is finally confirmed to be launched on Nintendo Switch 2. Following a series of leaks, Ubisoft announced Thursday that the action-adventure game will launch on Switch 2 on December 2, 2025. The company also detailed the game’s fall post-launch update roadmap, confirming free story additions and another parkour update.
Over the past few months, several leaks have suggested that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Ubisoft confirmed the new version of the game by releasing a trailer of Switch 2 gameplay.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Switch 2 will include all recent post-launch updates and free content drops, with the exception of the Awaji Claws expansion, which is expected to launch in 2026. Ubisoft says the game will also support Ubisoft Connect’s cross-progression and new touchscreen functionality in all menus, including the world map, shops, and hideouts.
Assassin’s Creed: Shadows Fall Roadmap
The publisher also shared a roadmap for Assassin’s Creed: Shadows following its fall release. On October 28, the game will receive Title Update 10, which will bring the second Parkour update. This will add an “advanced parkour” toggle to the game’s settings and allow players to perform side and back pops from any height. The update will also improve side popping when parkour moves downwards, expand vertical ledge grab functionality, and add directional ledge grab mechanics.
Title Update 10 will also add Corrupted Castles, allowing players to replay previously completed castles with new Animus anomalies, bosses, and rewards.
On November 25, Ubisoft will launch update 11 for the game, which will include a free story drop. Ubisoft says the new missions, called “Puzzles,” will have a more humorous tone similar to Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. As part of the mission, Naoe and Yasuke will also learn new skills from each other. The mission also adds a new environmental puzzle. Finally, Ubisoft also announced that a special collaboration will be available in the November 25th update.
The company says more free updates and content will be added to the game during the holidays.
Assassin’s Creed: Shadows launches in March on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. The action-adventure game set in Japan has long been rumored to be coming to Switch 2. In July, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said that “new versions” of the game were being developed for other platforms, effectively confirming a Switch 2 version.
Ubisoft is also rolling out regular post-launch updates for the game, including a parkour update and a major story expansion, Claws of Awaji, which adds new story chapters, new map locations, new weapons and gear, and more to the base game.
