Rangers manager Danny Rohr has spoken to the media as his side prepare to face Ludogorets in the Europa League at Ibrox on Thursday night.
Here are the key points:
-
John Souttar will miss the games against Ludogorets and Dundee due to a short-term injury. Rohr expects his return starting Monday.
-
All three new signings are ineligible for Thursday night’s game, but Andreas Skov-Olsen could feature against Dundee on Sunday.
-
Rohr hopes to “keep the momentum” at Ibrox after six consecutive wins but knows it will be a “tough challenge” against Ludogorets: “A win is a win, it doesn’t matter which game it is.”
-
He added that despite a disappointing first six games of the tournament and just one point, it was a chance to “show where they stand”.
-
Rangers are currently fourth from bottom in the Europa League table and need to win their remaining two games to have any chance of promotion, so Rohr stressed that “it is important that we start to gain more points in the table”, adding that “we will move forward with a strong team” but admitted that “we have to be successful in the league”.
-
On the transfer window, Rohr admitted that “it is important for us because we have new players but also some players who need game time” and said that “in the next 7-10 days, there will be ins and outs”.
-
Asked if he would sign a “statement” to show his intentions for the title race, Rohr admitted “maybe someone we could bring in an exciting signing” but added he wouldn’t reveal too much about it in case people would be disappointed if it didn’t happen. He said there were “a lot of ifs, buts and maybes.”
