Xavier Worthy injury update: Chiefs WR posts about successful surgery

Xavier Worthy’s offseason is already off to a great start.

On January 14, the Kansas City Chiefs receiver posted on social media that he underwent successful surgery. It’s been a rough year for the second-year player, who suffered a torn labrum in Brazil’s first game of the season against the Los Angeles Chargers.

“Let’s work together toward recovery next year,” Worthy said in the post. The receiver also posted an Instagram Story on his account, showing off his arm in a sling.

In addition to the shoulder injury, Worthy also battled ankle issues. Even with the pain, he has only missed two games this season due to injury.

Week 1: Detroit Lions wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa (18) catches a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. The play was initially ruled an incomplete pass but was eventually overturned. Despite TeSlaa’s hard work, the Packers won the game 27-13.

Worthy missed Week 18 due to illness, but that was after the Chiefs had already been eliminated from the playoffs.

He hopes to return to form in 2026, when the Chiefs also hope to get back on track after missing the playoffs for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era.
