Browns interviewed Ravens’ OC Todd Monken for head coaching vacancy

Todd Monken and the Ravens are parting ways, but the veteran offensive coordinator will have his suitors. One potential team is the Browns, who interviewed Monken on Saturday morning.

The Ravens finished the 2025 season 8-9 after a 1-5 start, and Monken’s inability to take Lamar Jackson to the next level while moving forward without Derrick Henry was the final nail in the coffin. Although Monken has inexplicably left running backs out at critical moments in several disappointing losses this season, Henry has totaled more than 1,500 yards.

The future should begin and end with the two-time MVP quarterback. Last season, the 28-year-old Jackson set career highs in passing touchdowns (41), passing yards (4,172) and quarterback rating (119.6) while throwing just four interceptions. Entering his third season as offensive coordinator, Jackson’s growth as a quarterback is expected to continue and reach another level as he enters the prime of his career. In his first two years, Monken’s Baltimore offense was the best in the NFL, ranking first in red zone touchdown rate at 67.9%, averaging 172.1 rushing yards per game and posting a 110.8 passer rating. In two years, the team averaged 28.4 points per game, 6.3 yards per game, and 397.6 total yards per game, both ranking second. The Ravens rank second in the league with 156.6 rushing yards per game and 11th in scoring with 24.9 points per game.

Monken and the Ravens offense struggled and regressed. Baltimore has the second-best rushing attack in the NFL and ranks 16th in total offense with 332.2 yards per game.
