The Ravens parted ways with head coach John Harbaugh on Monday after 18 seasons. Now, Baltimore is looking for a head coach to pair with quarterback Lamar Jackson, and former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is already considering a candidate.
“I think Steve Spagnuolo is absolutely the best candidate,” Gronkowski said Wednesday on “Up & Adams.”
Spagnuolo has several years of experience as an NFL head coach with the St. Louis Rams from 2009 to 2011. He had a 10-38 record before being fired. In 2017, Spagnuolo also served as the interim head coach of the New York Giants, coaching four games.

While Spagnuolo didn’t have much success as a head coach, he did an excellent job as the Chiefs’ defensive coordinator over the past seven seasons. Kansas City has been to the Super Bowl five times and won three in that span.
One blow for Spagnuolo is that he is 66 years old and many teams are looking to rejuvenate their head coaching positions. However, the Ravens may be the best team for an older head coach as they now have a quarterback and veteran roster ready to win.
The Ravens may be the top head coaching vacancy on the market, and it will be interesting to see who Baltimore decides to hire.
