Video shared by El Día Después captured the moment during Real Madrid’s corner kick when chants were clearly directed at the centre-back.

Asensio was the target of abuse, with the crowd shouting: “Asensio, you scum, get out of Victoria!”

Rather than react angrily, the defender turned to the stands and, in a sarcastic gesture, briefly joined in the chants himself, a reaction that underscored frustration and resignation.

Asensio responded calmly

The situation didn’t go unnoticed by his teammates. Aureliano Chumeni immediately intervened, walking towards Asensio in an attempt to calm him down and prevent the abuse from affecting his concentration during a crucial stage of the game.

After the game, El Día Después published a post condemning the insult and calling for its eradication from football stadiums.

Asensio chose to respond directly, clarifying his position without further intensifying the situation.

The defender replied: “I agree,” Accompanied by an emoji of a face with a zipper covering its mouth, the restrained but animated reaction spoke volumes about his state of mind.

Unfortunately, this incident is not an isolated one. Asensio has been subjected to similar insults on a number of occasions and some fans continue to refer to the legal proceedings he has faced in the past.
