Davante Adams was injured in the fourth quarter of the Los Angeles Rams’ win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday, re-injuring the hamstring that has troubled him the past few weeks. After the game, Sean McVay didn’t rule out the possibility of playing receiver in Week 16 against the Seattle Seahawks, but he said it “doesn’t look good” when describing Adams’ injury.
Ian Rapoport reported Monday morning that there’s no firm timetable for Adams’ return, but the wide receiver will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of his hamstring strain. Rapoport added that the “hope” is that Adams can return to the playoffs, suggesting he will miss the final three weeks of the regular season.

“Regardless of the injury, especially the hamstring injury, it’s hard to imagine him playing Thursday night against Seattle, which is a very, very important game,” Rapoport said of Adams.
He continued: “Really, there are only a few types of injuries this time of year. There’s one injury where a guy is fine, there’s one injury where he comes back to the playoffs and then he’s done. Hopefully this is one of those injuries that brings him back to the playoffs. It’s only a few weeks away. It’s hard to imagine him playing before he’s fully healthy, but the MRI will tell the story. The Rams will face the Seahawks on Thursday night before facing the Falcons in Atlanta on Monday night in Week 17. After that, the season finale will be against the Cardinals on Saturday or Sunday in Week 18.
If the Rams can win without Adams on Thursday night, they can feel good about allowing him to slowly recover in two very winnable games over the final two weeks. Plus, if they win and get the No. 1 seed, they’ll get a first-round bye.
This will give Adams four weeks of rest before returning for conference play.
