Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said the team believes right tackle Zach Thom and safety Evan Williams avoided serious long-term injuries with knee injuries sustained in Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos.
“Long term, I think we’ll be fine, but whether it’s one week, two weeks or three weeks, I can’t tell you,” LaFleur said.

Tom left the game in the second quarter with an injury on a Josh Jacobs touchdown catch. Williams left in the second half and did not return.
According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Tom doesn’t believe he has any structural issues with his knee, while Williams said his knee injury is no more serious than the injury he suffered in college that sidelined him four games.
With receiver Christian Watson suffering a chest injury that required scans at a local Denver hospital and defensive end Micah Parsons suffering a season-ending ACL tear, the latest from Tom and Williams offers a glimmer of good news.
However, it’s hard to imagine Tom or Williams taking the field next week in Chicago for the Packers. LaFleur’s team turned things around quickly in Saturday night’s game at Soldier Field. On Sunday, the Packers replaced Tom at right tackle with Darian Kinnard and Williams at safety with special teams player Zayne Anderson.

Tom, the team’s best offensive lineman, has been plagued by slash and back injuries this season. Williams has emerged as one of the best young safeties in the NFL, starting opposite Xavier McKinney.
