UC Medical Center spokesperson Heather Chura-Smith said one patient at the hospital was in critical condition. Five people were in stable condition and two had been treated and released, she said.

The status of personnel at Good Samaritan Hospital is unknown. Hospital staff declined to provide an update on the man’s condition.

Henney said there was an event going on at the venue, but he did not say what it was. A description on the venue’s website lists it as a “nightlife concert venue.”

Mayor Aftab Preval called the shooting “unjustified” in a statement.
