3 Rams make PFF’s top free-agent signings list

Part of the reason the Los Angeles Rams have been so dominant this season is because of the work that general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay did in the offseason in finding and signing free agents.

They identified gaps in the roster and brought in players who could solve the problems plaguing the team in 2024. Even better, they didn’t overspend. According to Spotrac, the total value of contracts signed by the Rams this offseason is $94.3 million, which ranks 16th in the NFL. For reference, the New England Patriots spent the most — $364.3 million.

Despite the Rams’ frugality, three Rams players rank among Pro Football Focus’ top 20 free agent signings for 2025: receiver Davante Adams, defensive lineman Poona Ford and linebacker Nate Landman. All three are starters and major contributors on both sides of the ball.

Adams leads the NFL with 14 receiving touchdowns this year and has been a red zone force for Los Angeles. According to PFF, Adams’ 84.1 receiving grade ranks 11th among qualified receivers this season and is his personal best since 2022. He’s also been a huge help to quarterback Matthew Stafford, with Adams posting a passer rating of 112.6 when targeted.

The Rams’ biggest need this offseason is run blocking, as Los Angeles gave up 26 rushing yards in 2024. Ford immediately addressed the issue and helped the Rams become a top-tier defense against the run. From PFF:

Ford continued his impressive performance at the SoFi Stadium a year ago. In 2025, his overall PFF grade was 89.5, which ranked second among qualified interior defensive players. While Ford is a great pass rusher with a pass rush grade of 73.2 PFF, he also has excellent numbers in run defense – he has an 85.5 PFF run defense grade and a run stop percentage of 12.7%.

Los Angeles has a defensive line that ranks in the top five against both the pass and the run this year, and Ford is an integral part of that.

Randleman may be the least well-known of the bunch, as he seemingly emerged out of nowhere from his time with the Atlanta Falcons to become one of the best linebackers in the NFL.

Adams and Ford were both well-known figures in their respective positions, but Randleman was a revelation. He led the team with 123 combined tackles, was second with 60 solo tackles, forced four fumbles, recovered two fumbles, defended six passes and recorded 2.5 sacks.

His 73.7 overall PFF grade ranked 18th among the qualifiers, and his 79.4 PFF grade among running backs ranked 16th in the group. Landman also ranked in the 81st percentile in PFF coverage grade (67.4) and in the 90th percentile in run-stop rate (9.2 percent).

Randleman’s rise also earned him a nice new contract.

The Rams’ ability to discover and sign talent in free agency, combined with their opportunistic trades and draft acumen, has made the Rams one of the most consistent teams under Snead and McVay. This is a big reason why Los Angeles is one of the major contenders for the Super Bowl this season.
