2026 Winter Olympics medal count, standings entering February 16

As the Milan-Cortina Games enter its final week and the medal table for the 2026 Winter Olympics takes shape, Norway is starting to lose its top spot.

The Norwegian team won a total of 26 medals, including an Olympic-high 12 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 7 bronze medals.

Host country Italy ranks second with 22 medals (8 gold, 4 silver, 10 bronze), and the United States and Japan are tied with 17 medals each. However, Team USA had the advantage in gold medal, five to three.

Unfortunately, Team USA fell short of a medal on Sunday, but will have a chance to add to its tally on Monday, when figure skating duo Ellie Kamm and Danny O’Shea will compete for gold in the free skate.

We’ll also have to wait and see if the U.S. women’s hockey team punches its ticket to the gold medal game when they face Sweden in the semifinals.
