2026 NFL Draft: Saints schedule pre-draft visit with underrated WR

The New Orleans Saints are doing a lot of research on Tyler Shaw’s next weapon. Underrated Georgia State prospect Ted Hurst is on their list of pre-draft visits, according to NFL insider Ryan Fowler, who added that Hurst is also scheduled to visit the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins. He is the latest wide receiver to be linked to the Saints, who have also met with Chris Bell (Louisville) and Makai Lemon (USC). The team is limited to 30 official visits to headquarters for interviews and physicals, so foreign visits are undoubtedly their focus.

Hurst, 21, stood out during Senior Bowl workouts earlier this offseason (the Saints had seven assistant coaches coaching him), showing an ability to adapt to off-target passes and track the ball deep downfield. He impressed again at the NFL Combine – he’s 6-foot-4, 206 pounds and ran a 40-yard dash time of 4.42 seconds. This speed is also shown on the stat sheet. After breaking out in 2024 with 56 catches for 961 yards and nine touchdowns, he caught 71 passes for 999 yards and six touchdowns in 2025. He has a first down on more than 70 percent of his catches. Now he’s expected to become Georgia State’s third draft pick in the past three years; before 2017, the school had only drafted three players and its most notable NFL product was former Saints Pro Bowl kicker Wil Lutz. So far, Hurst has checked every box on his pre-draft to-do list. Showing the Saints what they want to see on this official visit is just the next step.
