2026 kicker Jacob Baggett commits to Michigan Football

Kyle Whittingham added another player to the 2026 recruiting class with kicker Jacob Baggett announcing his commitment to the Michigan Wolverines on Thursday afternoon.

The commitment comes after Baggett received an offer from Michigan special teams coach Kerry Coombs last week and visited Ann Arbor last weekend, so the Wolverines are moving fast on this recruiting trip.

Former 2026 kicker Micah Drescher withdrew his letter of intent from Michigan State after signing last month. That opens the door for another specialist in the Wolverines’ pursuit class, and getting a top-10 kicker in the country at the last minute is pretty solid work.

Here is Baggett’s profile page on Chris Sailer Kicking, which includes a very nice letter of recommendation:

Jacob was an outstanding high school football prospect. He’s a good-looking athlete with a leg that’s still alive. Jacobs is great at shooting. He hit the ball pure and easily gained height from 55+ yards. His drive was strong and D1 was ready. Jacobs’ kickoff was over 65 yards and the air time was over 4.15. He is a competitor who thrives under pressure. There are big benefits here. Jacob has all the tools to dominate at the next level. Look for him to dominate his senior season and earn more college offers along the way. It was a pleasure working with him. The prospects are excellent. Discount now! ! !

Baggett played football at Providence Day High School in North Carolina, the same school that produced Michigan wide receiver Channing Goodwin. As a senior, Baggett was 6-for-7 on field goal attempts for 48 yards. You can watch his senior season highlights in the video below.
