LOS ANGELES — The final event of the PGA Tour’s West Coast Swing is here.
The Genesis Invitational kicks off Thursday at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, marking the second consecutive signature event on the tour. The Tiger Woods-hosted tournament is the final event before the tour heads to Florida for a month to prepare for The Players Championship.

Like every time he takes the field, Scotty Scheffler will be the one to beat. The world’s No. 1 golfer has posted three consecutive top-four finishes on tour this season, starting with a blowout win at the American Express last month. He was also briefly tied for the lead last week at Pebble Beach, but couldn’t quite overcome a tough opening round. Scheffler is certainly the +300 favorite on BetMGM.
Rory McIlroy also made his second consecutive start on Tour. He finished tied for 14th last week, five strokes behind winner Collin Morikawa. Tommy Fleetwood, Hideki Matsuyama and Xander Schauffele are also among the biggest names in the field this week.
If Scheffler can play a full week, he’ll have proven he’s nearly impossible to beat. Even if he fumbles early, recent history suggests he’ll likely find a way to compete on Sunday.
