Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Noah Sadiki as part of their long-term midfield plans, but Sunderland have made it clear they are unwilling to consider selling the player given his stellar start to life on Wearside.

Sadiqi has quickly established himself as one of the most impressive young midfielders in the Championship since joining last summer. His combination of physicality, composure and tactical discipline have boosted his standing in the recruitment department, although Sunderland have remained cool about the growing attention.
Manchester United tracking long-term midfield options
Sources claim United have been monitoring Sadiqi’s progress for a number of years, including in the period leading up to his move to England. It is understood Old Trafford officials are retaining a detailed scouting report and continue to closely assess his development.

Manchester United are expecting big changes in their midfield staff in 2026. It’s uncertain whether Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte, Kobe Minu or Bruno Fernandez will stay beyond next summer, sparking internal discussions around succession planning and depth.
Sadiqi fits the type United are analyzing: young, adaptable, technically sound and already tested in the demands of English football. At this stage, interest is being described as surveillance rather than active pursuit, with United content to track his trajectory before making any firm decisions.
Sunderland convinced of Sadiqi’s role
Sunderland’s position is clear. The club view Sadiqi as a fundamental player in their ongoing project and have no intention of facilitating an exit any time soon.

Sunderland made a decisive move amid hesitation from several Premier League clubs after signing the midfielder from Alliance SG for £17.5m. That early belief was reinforced internally as Sadiqi exceeded expectations in both consistency and impact.
Club sources have spoken highly of his work in midfield, noting his ability to dominate games well beyond his years. His attitude, professionalism and willingness to develop within the structure provided were also recognized.
Equally significant, Sadiki is believed to have settled in the northeast. Those close to the player insist he values the opportunity given to him by Sunderland and is in no rush to move elsewhere.
European interest quietly grows
United are not the only team tracking Sadiqi. Tottenham Hotspur continue to assess him, while Chelsea-linked ownership group BlueCo has retained interest and is now more clearly eyeing Stamford Bridge than Strasbourg.

Elsewhere, Marseille and RB Leipzig are also keeping tabs on his performances, while Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Leeds United have previously held exploratory talks with his representatives ahead of his move to Sunderland.
Despite this level of interest, no club believes Sunderland are willing to negotiate at this stage.
Valuations may affect future results
While Sunderland remain firm, sources admit elite interest could eventually force talks between the two sides. Sadiqi’s valuation has risen sharply and is currently estimated to be close to £50m if his current trajectory continues.
If Sunderland receive an offer that is more than double their initial investment, the club will face a difficult decision. Even so, any reassessment is viewed as a future scenario, not an immediate problem.

Currently, Sadiki’s focus is on the Sunderland campaign and his international ambitions with DR Congo, including the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. United will continue to monitor but Sunderland’s stance remains unchanged.
