Two people were taken to the hospital after an accidental shooting at a Kroger restaurant in Warren County on Friday night, Hamilton Township Police Chief Scott Hughes said.

A shooting was reported at the Kroger in the 5000 block of State Road 48 around 7:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found two victims with minor injuries. They have been hospitalized and are in stable condition.

Hughes said a preliminary investigation indicates the victim was injured in the lobby or front office area of the store.
The gunshots came from outside the store and may have come from a nearby property
Hughes said the shooting was accidental and a man has been arrested.
The suspect’s identity is unclear at this time.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was asked to assist in the investigation, Hughes said.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and several other area officials are on scene.
“When an incident like this does occur, we’re out there and obviously we’re going to pursue it to the best of our ability until we make an arrest,” Hughes said.
The department said there is no threat to the public.
