2 injured, 1 missing after industrial fire at area plant

A fire broke out at a local food factory, leaving two people injured and one person “unaccounted for.”

According to our news partner WCPO, the fire broke out at Koch Foods Plant B at 630 Commerce Center Drive around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

Anyone within a two-mile radius of the facility is asked to shelter in place until further notice.

At 7:41 a.m., the Fairfield Fire Department reported that the shelter-in-place order had been lifted.

Fairfield Fire Chief Thomas Lakamp reported that the roof collapsed during the fire, making it difficult for firefighters to get inside.

He also said he believed the two injured people who were taken to hospital had been discharged.
