LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – An assistant manager at a local apartment complex gave one of his co-workers $1,000 via email Forward payment.
Each month Bob Giles & Giles Motor Company Give a stranger a thousand dollars so they can give it to someone they know. This month we meet Matthew Dix.
“I’ve got a thousand dollars in cash here,” Giles said. “We have a few rules. One of them, it can’t be a relative. The only other rule…if you can think of someone, we want to surprise them with a thousand dollars, you and us.”
“Okay,” Dixon said. “I do have someone in my heart.”

Dixon chose to pass the money on to his colleague Ernest Matthews.
“He’s been a great employee of mine,” Dixon said. “I’m actually an assistant manager, so he’s a very hard-working guy who needs help.”
We went to the apartment complex with Dixon to surprise Matthews.
“You look surprised,” Giles said.
“Very much,” Matthews said.
We explained to Matthews that we had met Dixon in the parking lot and given him an envelope with a thousand dollars to pass on to someone else. He’s grateful Dixon chose him to receive the money.
“No need to thank me,” Dixon said. “It was all God’s work. All I did was say yes.”
“Thank you so much,” Matthews said. “It was a big surprise.”
Matthews said he plans to use the money to buy a car.
“There’s a lot going on right now, a lot in my personal life actually,” Matthews said. “But thankfully, we’re working on that. My team members and everybody are helping me position myself right now.”
“We’re all family,” Dixon said.
“Absolutely,” Matthews said. “family.”
“He thought of you right away,” Giles told Matthews. “We’re so lucky to have met him and now you.”
