IO Interactive shared an in-depth analysis of the gameplay of “007 First Light” at Sony’s State of Play conference in September, detailing stealth, combat and mission design. The game will be a stand-alone retelling of James Bond’s origin story, following a young 26-year-old Bond on his journey to achieve the identity of “00”.

The game will be a blend of stealth, melee action, gunplay and driving gameplay as Bond travels to multiple locations, infiltrating heavily guarded areas and utilizing an array of gadgets to help him complete his mission. First Light will also star a range of iconic James Bond characters including Q, Miss Moneypenny and M, as well as a host of new original characters. One of them, recently revealed at the 2025 Game Awards, stars Bawma, a new Bond villain played by Lenny Kravitz.

007 First Light is available to pre-order on supported platforms.
