YouTube acknowledged the problem in a tweet posted around 5.3 am on November 12, saying that the team is working on a solution. A few minutes ago, users began to complain about the problem. The power outage appeared to last until 7.40 am IST, approximately when YouTube tweeted users to inform users that the problem was resolved.

DownDetector.com, a website that monitors Internet outages across the globe and across social media platforms, showed nearly 286,000 users complaining about the problem. This was noticed when the “Down Detector” chart peaked due to complaints against YouTube at around 6 am IST. According to the website, the problem started at 6:53 PM Eastern Time (5:23 AM Standard Time), and users said they had trouble watching videos on the platform.

YouTube informed users through a tweet that its service has been relaunched two later, saying that the service has been repaired on all devices and YouTube services. However, the did not provide any explanation for the cause of the interruption.

According to The Verge’s report, the YouTube website was able to load normally, but the was not streamed as expected, and the loading wheel continued to be displayed for a minute before a playback error occurred. The report said that after YouTube notified users on that its service was fixed, all error messages be cleared by a simple refresh.
