Windows 10 users have complained of recurring pop-ups with suggestions to switch the default browser and search engine on their machines. These pop-up windows are basically promoting Microsoft's own Chromium Edge browser and Bing search engine. The popup is shown on Windows 10 systems using its built-in Notification Center. They act as advertisements for the Bing search engine and detail all the benefits of switching to it. Fortunately for all of you who receive these pop-ups, there is a quick workaround to disable them.

Users on Reddit have already complaining about this new prompt occasionally showing up on their Windows 10 systems. These notifications suggest Bing as your default search engine and Edge as your default browser. These two applications will only appear if they have not already been set as default applications on the computer. WindowsLatest reports two ads that apparently appear as pop-ups for the Bing search engine. An ad promoting the MSN Newsfeed of the Bing homepage and its Safe Results feature. Another ad told users that if they switched to Bing, they could save money online using the Microsoft Rewards feature available in certain countries.

You can get rid of unnecessary notifications by clicking the “Later” option or clicking the “Change Settings” button to change their default browser to Edge and their search engine to Bing. Users who want to continue using their existing browser apps and search engines need to follow a few simple steps to stop notifications on their Windows 10 systems. As explained by a Reddit user, you can simply paste this into your URL bar “edge://flags/#edge-show-feature-recommendations” and disable “Show feature and workflow recommendations” to stop annoying Notice.
