The 2025 British Championships will be held at York Barbican from 29 November to 7 December.
World number one Judd Trump defeated Barry Hawkins 10-8 in last year’s final in a bid to retain his title, but eight-time champion Ronnie O’Sullivan lost to Chinese player Zhou Yuelong in the first round.

Other current former champions include John Higgins, Mark Williams, Mark Selby, Neil Robertson and world champion Zhao Xintong.
The tournament is the first Triple Crown event of the season, with two other events – the Masters and World Championship – both due to take place in 2026.
You can watch every shot of the game live on BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website and the BBC Sport app, with extensive coverage on network TV.
All York games are played in a best-of-11 format, except for the final, which is played in two games of 19 frames.

In 2007, O’Sullivan performed incredibly well in the semi-finals against Selby, scoring 147 in the last frame. In 2014, he once again set the UK’s highest single score.
Australia’s Robertson is the only player to have shot 147 in a British Championship final, achieving the feat in the sixth frame of his 2015 win over Liang Wenbo.
Andy Hicks, Lisowski and John Higgins posted three 147s at the 2012 Championship, all achieving top scores.
Liam Pullen and Chang Bingyu both shot 147 in this year’s qualifying, setting a new single-season record of 16 with more than six months left in the season.
