The social media company said on on Monday that Twitter appointed Rinki , former IBM security director, as its chief information security officer.

According to her profile on LinkedIn, Sethi previously served as vice president of information security at Palo Alto, a security company.

Reuters reported in July that Twitter, which has not had a security officer since December, increased its search efforts in the weeks before a well-known account on its platform was compromised.

In early July, the company reported a vulnerability in which hackers accessed its internal systems and hijacked some high-level voices on the platform, including US presidential candidate Joe Biden and reality TV star Kim Kardashian. And used them to solicit digital currency.
