Trump Says He Doesn’t Know Enough About Paramount’s CNN Takeover Bid Backed By Jared Kushner

“Do you support Paramount’s acquisition of Warner Bros.?” the reporter asked.

“I don’t know enough about it,” Trump responded.

“You talked about Netflix last night and said you were concerned about them,” the reporter noted, referring to Netflix’s exclusive talks with Warner Bros. Discovery for an $82 billion acquisition. Netflix deal would exclude CNN, while Paramount owner, David EllisonFollowing his acquisition of CBS News, he is looking to acquire the entire company, including CNN.

“I know these companies very well. I know what they’re doing, but I have to look. I have to see what their market share is. We have to look at Netflix’s market share, Paramount’s market share. I mean, none of them are particularly good friends of mine. You know, I just want to do the right thing. Doing the right thing is very important,” Trump responded.

“Mr. President, the Paramount deal has the support of Jared Kushner. Does that affect your decision?” pushed the reporter.

“Yeah, Paramount is… I don’t know. I haven’t — I’ve never spoken to him, but he’s working really hard on Gaza. I think Gaza is his top priority,” Trump responded.

It’s worth noting that Paramount’s ownership is also considered close to Trump, given that David Ellison’s father, billionaire Larry Ellison, is a close ally of Trump.
