Trump Gives Himself A New Royal Nickname, Then Doubles Down In Late-Night Post

President Donald Trump has given himself a royal nickname: “The Tariff King.”

“I’m the Tariff King, the Tariff King does a great job,” Trump said at a White House event on rural health care on Friday.

He used the monarchy moniker when talking about threatening tariffs on other countries to lower drug costs in the United States.

Minutes earlier, the president announced that he “may” use tariffs to punish countries that oppose his control of Greenland.

“If countries don’t agree with Greenland, I may impose tariffs on them because we need Greenland for national security,” he said.

He then correctly predicted: “Actually, that’s the end of the story.”

Later that night, around 10:30 p.m., Trump posted a black-and-white photo of himself on Truth Social with the words “Mr. Tariff” underneath. Less than a minute later, he posted the exact same photo, this time promoting himself as the “Tariff King.”

On Saturday morning, Trump took the tariff threat a step further, announcing that he would impose tariffs on goods exported to the United States from eight European countries until “an agreement to fully purchase Greenland is reached.”
