Three strikes and U’s boss feels luck is out

Oxford United manager Matt Bloomfield told BBC Radio Oxford he didn’t think his side were affected by the green in their 3-1 defeat to Sheffield United:

“We took the lead and although we didn’t have the ball we were very confident in our form. We defended very, very well so the goal was really disappointing.

“If you look at it, I think they had three shots on goal tonight and scored three goals.

“The kids gave us everything. I can’t tell you how proud I am of the work rate, effort and discipline we showed in the game.

“We’re going to be punished for every little mistake at the moment, but we’ll get out of this.

“We’re in a very challenging league and we believe we can fight our way out of it, and we can only do that by fighting.”
