Last summer, Thomas Muller left Bayern Munich to join the Major League Soccer team Vancouver Whitecaps, with a contract until the end of 2026.
Müller, who turns 37 later this year, is starting to think about life after football – and coaching is one possibility.

When asked by Kicker if he would become a coach, Mueller said “yes.”
“I don’t know which training route I will take when I finally hang up my boots. It also depends on how I feel after some time and distance,” he added.
When the time comes, Mueller wants to think about a few key questions for himself.
“Do I want to continue to be part of this football world that gives me so much emotion? And if so, do I want to be on the pitch? There’s almost no job security unless you become a youth coach.”
However, the veteran is in no rush to decide what will happen after his career is over.

“I haven’t found any direction for myself and I don’t want to do that right now. I feel like if I stay in football, things don’t need to happen quickly, so I don’t need to start preparing right away. I can take my time and see,” he said.
When it comes to the possibility of returning to Bayern in a different role, Muller said he wants to leave as many doors open as possible.
“I’m not one to rule out anything, and right now, I enjoy being a player.”
