These specifications make Sony WF-1000XM3 a direct competitor to AirPods Pro and flagship product Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2, both of which are priced around Rs. 25,000 in India.

Sony WF-1000XM3 promises to play music for up to 6 hours when the active noise reduction function is enabled, and can guarantee up to 8 hours of music playback in the off mode. The battery box can provide three additional charges, with a total battery life of up to 32 hours per charge cycle. The protective case is charged via a USB Type-C port and also supports NFC function for quick pairing. Like most Sony headsets and headsets, the WF-1000XM3 true wireless headset can be customized and controlled through the Sony Headphones Connect app for iOS and Android.

The lack of support for advanced Bluetooth codecs such as aptX and LDAC may cause some concerns, especially considering the recently released Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 feature for aptX codecs. However, due to the support of the AAC Bluetooth codec, Sony WF-1000XM3 is expected to be fully compatible with Apple smart phones and most Android devices.
