“Bad Bunny’s” performance may not break the record for the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show. But he quickly became the most-watched halftime show after the game.
Roc Nation announced Monday that “Bad Bunny” attracted 4.157 billion viewers globally and in the U.S. across game broadcasts, YouTube and other digital media in the 24 hours following its performance.
That number, while shocking, shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Bad Bunny has more international appeal than any other artist to grace the Super Bowl stage. International fans who did not attend Bad Bunny’s performance made a point of finding the event after the fact and watching it on another platform.

Although “Bad Bunny” set the record for the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show 24 hours later, he failed to break that record during his performance. His live performance at the Super Bowl attracted 128.2 million viewers, making it the fourth most-watched halftime show. Kendrick Lamar, who performed at the event last year, holds the live viewership record with 133.5 million viewers. Michael Jackson (133.4 million viewers) and Usher (129.3 million viewers) were the only ones to surpass Bad Bunny’s live audience.
Bad Bunny – whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio – was praised for his energetic and entertaining halftime show. With this performance, he became the first halftime performer ever to perform primarily in Spanish throughout the game.

His play proved to be arguably the most exciting part of the game heading into the fourth quarter. The Seattle Seahawks basically controlled the game the entire game, leading the New England Patriots fairly comfortably until the fourth quarter when both teams ended up scoring multiple touchdowns.
Although the Patriots fought hard to regain the game, they ultimately lost 29-13.
