A Stranger World trailer has been released, giving viewers a sneak peek at Disney’s upcoming animated film. The action-packed trailer for Strange World shows the Clade family as they land on a mysterious planet with Dr. Seuss-like creatures and elements, but don’t know where they are. Jake Gyllenhaal will lead the animated film alongside Alan Tudyk – details on the rest of the cast are currently being kept under wraps, as are information on the movie’s plot. According to Disney, the animated feature film will be released in November.
The 88-second Strange World trailer opens with a sepia retro-inspired animation of the Disney logo, followed by a video of a spaceship flying over an alien planet with a message on screen: “Get ready for a journey beyond reality. Possible.” Then , Sepia video switches to full-color mode with vivid tones and fast-paced animation. “Cheer up!” a woman in flight goggles shouted, as the spacecraft broke through an unidentified surface.
“Travel through time to an infinitely mysterious place unlike anything you’ve ever seen,” the on-screen message reads, with the trailer switching to five people and a dog on a spaceship looking out the window. screen. Several alien creatures are now on display, some walking on land and others gliding through the air in an organized fashion, as if they were swimming underwater. The land itself proved to be alive in some form, with a part splitting and “going away” as if it were a biped. “Where the hell are we?” we hear Searcher Clade (Jake Gyllenhaal) say when he interacts with a touch-sensitive blue creature that has fallen from a branch, only to be chased by dogs as it flees.
The trailer then cuts to an action-packed scene where the Voyagers battle creatures in their spaceships. Searcher Clade rescued the dog from octopus-like creatures on land, exclaiming: “I’m not an explorer, I’m a farmer!”. Bright glowing starfish-shaped creatures spin as they fly from tree to tree. “We need to get out of here,” he shouted, as the Clouds ran down a path of gliding creatures, the octopus-like creatures in full pursuit.
“If you want to quit, now is the time to quit,” said one of the travelers, while Searcher Clade asked in surprise, “Really?” She smiled and said, “No! Let’s make history,” the trailer cuts to another scene of this strange planet and its inhabitants.
The plot of “Odd World” is currently unknown, but it’s clear from the trailer that the Clad family’s explorers will have the work done for them as they navigate the unknown planet “Beyond Time and Space.”
In Strange World, Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler, Brokeback Mountain) will star alongside Alan Tudyk (Firefly, A Knight’s Tale), although details about his role and the rest of the cast have yet to be announced. This is Gyllenhaal’s second voice role following Spirit Untamed, which is set to hit theaters in 2021. The animated feature film will be directed by Don Hall (Raya and the Last Dragon, Big Hero 6) and Qui Nguyen (Raya and the Last Dragon, Dispatches from Elsewhere).
According to Disney, “Strange World” will open in theaters on November 23.
