The PlayStation 5 has a smooth and full-featured user interface, but until this year offered few customization options. Sony rolled out a system update in September that allowed users to personalize their PS5 home screens. Now, PlayStation’s parent company has launched a new PS5 feature update that brings unique themes and sound customization options to celebrate PlayStation’s history. PS5 users can now change the console’s UI design based on different generations of PlayStation consoles.
New PS5 themes
To celebrate PlayStation’s 30th anniversary on December 3, Sony has unveiled a new PS5 feature that allows users to improve the look and sound of the console. With the new feature, users can choose themes based on the original PlayStation, PS2, PS3, PS4 as well as custom 30th anniversary themes.
These themes feature unique visual elements, color schemes, and audio cues on the PS5’s home screen and other menus, with each theme closely following the aesthetics of the chosen console generation. In addition to the theme, the PS5 now launches with the PS1’s iconic splash screen and sounds, followed by the 30th anniversary logo.
