This year’s event lasted four days – with live audiences and hundreds of panels spread throughout the venue in San Diego, California. Comic-Con has succumbed to online-only digital presentations for the past few years due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Key highlights this time around include The Lord of the Rings: Ring of Power, Black Panther: Forever Wakanda, Shazam! Wrath of the Gods, Black Adam, and John Wick: Chapter 4.

The Lord of the Rings: The Ring of Power

Release date: September 2 (Prime Video)

Discover the small-screen adaptation of the legend from JRR Tolkien’s book has been on Amazon Prime for five years. As a prequel, The Lord of the Rings: The Ring of Power explores the Second Age – a time when mighty power was forged and kingdoms prospered. Fans can also look forward to seeing the origin of Sauron – one of Tolkien’s greatest fantasy villains.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Release date: November 11 (in theaters)

Ryan Coogler’s long-awaited sequel marks the end of Marvel’s Phase 4 — illuminating some of the supporting characters in the Black Panther universe while paying tribute to Chadwick Boseman ( Chadwick Boseman’s legacy. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever won’t see the return of W’Kabi, played by Daniel Kaluuya, due to a scheduling conflict with his upcoming Jordan Peele film Nope.

John Wick: Chapter 4

Release date: March 24, 2023 (cinema)

Lionsgate has released a new trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4, starring Keanu Reeves as the titular killer. The film sees him return to the brutal world of the deadly assassin, teaming up with Borrigin (Laurence Fishburne) as he prepares to challenge the High Table – who betrayed him.

After 5,000 years of imprisonment, Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson) is released from his earthly tomb to return to modern Earth to unleash his unique form of justice.This marks DC Comics’ first-ever exploration feature film superhuman Dark, lightning-worn nemesis under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra.

She-Hulk: Lawyer

Release date: August 17 (Disney+ Hotstar)

Disney+ has released a new trailer for She-Hulk: The Lawyer, starring Tatiana Maslany as the titular hunk, green-toned superhero. Prior to this, the show had received some criticism online for the outrageous CGI used in the live-action series.The new trailer also reveals more about mentor Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, hinting at the fourth wall-breaking scene, as well as a look at Daredevil.

Shazam!wrath of the gods

Release date: Holiday 2022 (in theaters)

David F Sandberg’s sequel Shazam! In Wrath of Gods, the returning cast members are learning how to live with their newfound powers, as we saw Zachary Levi take a therapy session. The arrival of the Daughter of Atlas, played by Lucy Liu (Kill Bill: Volume 1), Helen Mirren and Rachel Zegler (West Side Story), makes matters worse.Lots of banter and cheeky references annabelle and Staro: Conqueror.

Sandman

Release date: August 5 (Netflix)

Another character on this list will be free from prison, Dream aka Sandman Live-action debut via Netflix. Created by Neil Gaiman, this dark fantasy follows Tom Sturridge, the embodiment of dreams, on a journey to find and reclaim his totem of power – a bag of sand, a helmet and a ruby Dangerous journey. Set in the modern world, the adaptation offers subtle changes in gender and timeline from the original graphic novel.

Star Trek: Picard Season 3

Release Date: 2023 (Prime Video)

As an emotional finale to the interstellar story, Paramount has released a trailer for the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard. The minute-long clip doesn’t reveal much beyond reuniting Patrick Stewart with the next-gen cast, and it also offers a personal voiceover. Paramount+ also gave us a trailer for the third season of the Star Trek animated series Lower Decks.

I’m Groot

Release date: August 10 (Disney+ Hotstar)

Marvel’s latest offering, which will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar, explores the life of Groot, the Flora giant, as a baby. The trailer, once again voiced by Vin Diesel, shows the taciturn hero getting caught up in all sorts of cute interstellar shenanigans and discovering new powers as he interacts with critters from the far reaches of the galaxy. The five-short series will be produced by “Guardians of the Galaxy” writer-director James Gunn.

Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Rogues

Release date: March 3, 2023 (cinema)

Adapted from the popular tabletop role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves follows a ragtag group led by Chris Pine as they venture into unknown lands in search of ancient ruins. Longtime fans will recognize plenty of traditional elements, including gelatinous cubes, mimics, magical warriors, displaced beasts—what good is a fantasy story without dragons?
