Russian research and development company Zvezda (Zvezda) has begun to manufacture spacesuits and personal flight equipment for Indian trained in Russia as part of India’s , Gaganiyaan.

Glavkosmos is a subsidiary of Roscosmos. The Human Space Flight Center (HSC) of the city-based Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has signed a contract with the company to train Indian astronauts.

Dmitry Loskutov, CEO of Glavkosmos, said: “On September 3, Indian astronauts trained in space flight in Russia under the Glavkosmos contract visited Zvezda, where anthropometric parameters were measured to produce the subsequent spacesuit.”

He added that the contract also provides for the production of individual seats and custom sofa linings. Glavkosmos and HSC signed a contract to produce and deliver a single equipment kit for Indian astronauts on March 11.

Since February 10th, four Indian Air Force fighter pilots are currently undergoing training in Russia and are likely to be potential candidates for the Gagagna Plan.

Gaganyaan is India’s first manned space mission and is scheduled to be completed around 2022.

However, ISRO stated that it may be delayed to the COVID-19 pandemic and the lock-up caused by it.
