Telecom giant Jio has rolled out 5G services at all 33 district headquarters in Gujarat state during its trial phase, the company said on Friday. This makes Gujarat the first state to get 5G services in all its district headquarters, and the largest rollout of the next-generation service currently in the trial phase. Jio said it will 5G services to users for free during the trial period.

“Today, Jio took a big step forward by expanding its True-5G coverage across 33 district headquarters in Gujarat, thereby making Gujarat the first state in India to achieve 100% Jio True 5G coverage in district headquarters. Gujarat holds a special place as it is the Janmabhoomi (birthplace) of Reliance,” the company said in a statement.

The rollout in the state begins with the companyR7;s “true 5G” initiative called Education for All, in which Reliance Foundation and Jio will jointly carry out the initial digitization of 100 schools in Gujarat.

“We are to report that Gujarat is now the first state to have 100% district headquarters connected to our powerful True 5G network. We want to showcase the true power of this technology and how it can impact the lives of a billion people. Education is the focus R1; the region of our Prime Minister,” Reliance Jio Infocomm Chairman Akash M Ambani said in a statement.

The Education for All initiative will connect schools with JioR7;s True5G, premium content platform, teacher-student collaboration platform and school management platform.

Earlier this week, Jio announced the official launch of its Jio True 5G network in Pune. Residents of Pune can speeds of up to gigabit per second (Gbps) with unlimited 5G data, the company said.

Jio said in a statement on Wednesday that it will start beta testing its True 5G network in the city only when most of the city is covered by its standalone True 5G network so that Jio customers can get good results. coverage and experience its advanced 5G network.
