Rockstar Games announced Thursday that Red Dead Redemption will be coming to Netflix Games on mobile devices and will be released natively on PS5, Xbox Series S/X and Nintendo Switch 2. The critically acclaimed western, which was ported to PS4 and Nintendo Switch in 2023 and PC last year, will launch on iOS, Android and current consoles on December 2, 2025. On the same day, Red Dead Redemption will also be added to the PS Plus game catalog.
The game will be coming to the new platform along with its Undead Nightmare DLC and some free upgrades and enhancements. In addition to Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare, the new version will also include bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition. Players can also carry over save content from previous generation consoles.

Reading Dead Redemption’s release on mobile devices is probably the most notable announcement. Netflix Games has been expanding its game library and making more AAA games available to subscribers. The company will add Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto Trilogy – Definitive Edition to the Netflix game library in 2023. Last year, Netflix launched the critically acclaimed roguelike action game Hades to its subscribers.
Red Dead Redemption will offer mobile-friendly control options on Android and iOS. Netflix members will be able to download and play the game on their phones starting December 2 as part of their subscription.

On current consoles, Red Dead Redemption will offer a range of enhancements, including 60fps performance on PS5, Xbox Series S/X and Nintendo Switch 2. On PS5 and Xbox Series S/X, the game will offer enhanced image quality, HDR support, and resolutions up to 4K. The Switch 2 version will support HDR, DLSS, and mouse control using Joy-Con 2 controllers.
Users who already own the game on PS4 and Nintendo Switch or its backward-compatible digital version on Xbox One will be able to upgrade to the current version for free. PS5 and Switch 2 users will be able to inherit saves from PS4 and Switch.
The current version of Read Dead Redemption was developed by Rockstar in partnership with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games. The epic western will also be available in the GTA+ game library and PS Plus game catalog on December 2.
Red Dead Redemption was originally released in 2010 on PS3 and Xbox 360. The game tells the story of John Marston, a former outlaw who is hired and blackmailed to hunt down his former gang members.
