New Delhi: The second day of the Ranji Trophy final witnessed extraordinary scenes as Jammu and Kashmir captain Paras Dogra lost his temper and head-butted the Karnataka substitute fielder, sparking a heated argument and forcing the umpires to intervene at the Hubli Cricket Ground on Wednesday.

The flashpoint came in the 101st over of Jammu and Kashmir’s first innings when Dogra batted in a crucial partnership with Kanhaiya Wadhawan. After sending Prasidh Krishna’s delivery to the boundary, Dogra exchanged words with substitute fielder KV Aneesh, who was stationed at short leg.

As the verbal spat escalated, Dogra suddenly lunged at Aneesh and headbutted him with her helmet. The shocking act shocked players and officials alike, with Karnataka captain Mayank Agarwal quickly stepping in to defuse the situation while the umpires also rushed to restore order.
