Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is backing Matt LaFleur as the team’s future head coach. While Love said he wouldn’t “jump to any conclusions” after Saturday night’s upset loss in the NFC wild-card round in Chicago, he had no hesitation in endorsing LaFleur as the team’s coach.
“Yeah, I definitely think Matt should be the head coach. I like Matt a lot. I think he’s doing a great job. That’s it,” Love said.

LaFleur’s status as coach will be considered in the coming days as team president and CEO Ed Policy digests the disappointing end to the 2025 season and charts a path forward for the team in his first offseason at the helm. The Packers ended the year losing five straight games.
The Packers led 21-3 on three first-half touchdown passes on Saturday night in Chicago, but a lackluster third-quarter offense allowed the Bears to claw their way back into the game, and the collapse ended late in the fourth quarter when Love couldn’t get the Packers into the end zone with a four-point lead.
LaFleur’s team gave up 25 points in the fourth quarter before the Bears went on a 28-6 run in the second half.

“We have to win games like this,” Love said.
Love, who was drafted in 2020, has only known LaFleur as his career head coach and is now in his sixth year in LaFleur’s offensive system. Any change in Green Bay’s head coaching position will bring with it a new offense, new terminology and a potentially steep learning curve at the quarterback position.
