With this announcement, Amazon Prime Video becomes the first Indian streaming service to obtain exclusive real-time cricket rights from a major cricket committee.
The multi-year agreement between Amazon and the New Zealand Cricket Commission will give Prime Video the right to circulate all international men’s and women’s cricket matches that will be played in New Zealand in ODI, T20 and Tests formats starting in the second half of 2021.
The deal also includes the Indian team’s tour in New Zealand in early 2022 and a second tour, the date of which will be announced later. The copyright for the 2020-2021 season, which starts later this month, will be jointly provided by Amazon.
Gaurav Gandhi, director and country general manager of Amazon Prime Video, said the team is looking forward to bringing India’s most popular game to streamers.
Gandhi said in a statement: “In the past few years, Amazon Prime Video has become India’s top destination for world-class entertainment, whether it is our Amazon original series or the largest cross-language blockbuster movie.”

We are very happy with New Zealand cricket To cooperate, this is our first live sports event in India, and we are satisfied with this plan for our main members.”
New Zealand Cricket CEO David White said: “One of NZC’s main goals is to expand our team’s global influence and build closer relationships worldwide. In other words, we don’t think we can be in better hands. India has always been important to NZC ratings; no other country follows cricket like India, so it’s exciting to announce this agreement with India’s leading streamer company .”
The Indian Territory New Zealand Cricket Rights Program is the latest of Prime Video’s growing live sports events worldwide, including Thursday Night Football, Premier League, ATP Tour, WTA, US Open (tennis), Europe Champions League, Fall National Cup (rugby) and Seattle Sounders FC.
Fans can also subscribe to streaming services through major video channels, such as Eurosport, MLB.TV, NBA League Pass and PGA TOUR LIVE.
