Phoenix man arrested after stealing $12,000 of Ping, TaylorMade drivers

A 31-year-old man has been arrested by Glendale, Arizona police in connection with a series of thefts involving Ping and TaylorMade riders.

Connor Burgess, of Phoenix, is accused of stealing approximately $12,000 worth of gear from multiple locations in Glendale, according to court documents. He was arrested on Nov. 25 at a motel in Phoenix.

One particular store surveillance video shows him leaving a retail store with seven drivers in his left hand.

The Glendale Police Department said he faces multiple felony charges. They include three counts of organized retail theft and tampering with physical evidence. He was also charged with possession of narcotic drugs at the motel where he was arrested.

Glendale police reported it was a month-long investigation. After a series of thefts at PGA Tour Supermarkets and Dick’s Sporting Goods, it was discovered that golf equipment for sale on OfferUp was priced well below its normal selling price. The surveillance video matched the profile image on the OfferUp account.
