But one area of the lineup that’s almost completely settled is the lineup. After signing Pete Alonso and trading Tyler Ward, the Orioles no longer have a pressing need in the lineup.
But the Orioles need some extra depth. The Orioles are recruiting a former Philadelphia Phillies utility player to join Baltimore’s MLB roster, 7 News’ Ari Alexander reports.

Wilson was waived by the Phillies after they signed JT Realmuto, and Wilson went on waivers. As claimed by the Orioles, he was unsuccessful and now has the veteran versatile player on their MLB roster.

The 31-year-old has played three seasons with the Phillies, including his first MLB home run. Wilson posted 0.4 bWAR in 100 games in three seasons with the Phillies.
Last season, in 52 games, he hit .198 with an OPS of .652. But in 2024, he’s averaging .284 with an OPS of .836 in 40 games.

Wilson can play the outfield or infield for the Orioles. He’s not the biggest addition this offseason, but the right-handed slugging utility utilityer is a solid option for the Orioles’ depth.
