OPPO announced that it has successfully conducted voice and video calls based on the next-generation 5G network. The company works with MediaTek and Ericsson to make VoNR (voice / video in new broadcast) calls.
For reference, VoNR is a basic call service that completely relies on 5G networks (SA architecture).
These calls are made using OPPO's improved commercial smartphones. it has MediaTekThe Dimensity 1000 series SoC, and uses an end-to-end 5G independent network (SA) supported by: Ericsson Radio system products and solutions.
The test was conducted under the 5G SA network environment provided by Ericsson at its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden.
"Our goal is to become an ideal partner in the industry to deploy 5G globally and improve the 5G experience for users," said Andy Wu, vice president and president of the Software Engineering Business Unit. OPPO Said in a statement.
