OnePlus is about to launch its first mechanical keyboard. The product will be launched for the global market and is part of the products that will be launched through OnePlus Featuring. The Shenzhen-based company had earlier notified that it would launch the product on December 15. While still awaiting an official announcement, OnePlus has revealed several details about its first-ever keyboard. So far, the company has confirmed that the OnePlus keyboard was developed in with keyboard manufacturing company Keychron.

OnePlus launched a new platform called OnePlus Featuring in December, aimed at offering co-created products to its users. Through this platform, the company will soon launch its first easily customizable keyboard. Mechanical keyboards with Keychron technology feature a double gasket design to avoid loud typing sounds.

In an official Twitter post earlier today, the company teased the upcoming keyboard.

OnePlus founder Lau Zuohu took the lead Announce OnePlus Keyboard when OnePlus Featuring was introduced via tweet earlier this month.

While not much is known about the OnePlus keyboard, the company has revealed several features. The keyboard will have an aluminum construction for portability. Plus, it will be compatible with Mac, Windows, and Linux. The is similar to a MacBook keyboard, but also works on MS Windows.

As mentioned above, the OnePlus keyboard will have customizable features. One of these is a hot-swappable feature that allows users to change switches for unique personalization. Another feature is the inclusion of open source firmware such as QMK and VIA.
